Trackbed Purchase Programme
The recent exciting extension of EA’s trackbed North of Chelfham has more than emptied the CIC’s coffers, which were boosted by a YVT loan on this occasion. Under the Charity Commission’s rules, the Trust is not yet able to gift funds or purchase significant numbers of shares. We understand that the necessary adjustments to EA’s constitution, required by the Commission, will be discussed with EA shareholders in the near future.
Meanwhile, EA’s Principal Director Mike Buse, who has successfully led EA’s negotiations throughout, is now identifying new targets for purchase. So please keep trackbed donations coming: all donations to the YVT can be supported by Gift-aid if you are a UK tax-payer.
